Actor / musician Jamie Foxx was the talk of social media this past weekend during the 2013 MTV Movie Awards.
The 45 year-old former comedian wore a black tee with photos of Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting victims, alongside a black & white photo of the late Trayvon Martin. To top the opinionated shirt off, the words “Know Justice, No Peace” were highlighted in white to remind and bring awareness to the unfortunate events.
Although Foxx shared that his intention was not to make a political statement, his appearance on the red carpet made many viewers head to their Twitter page to express their racial anger and disapproval of Foxx’s T-shirt. One Twitter user (@ProspectCGY) posted the following status before (of course) deleting it from his page:
Jamie foxx arrives at the MTV awards wearing a shirt with dead n****r criminals on it. Sad.
Back in 2012, Foxx wore a different t-shirt in honor of the unarmed 17 year-old fatally killed after suffering a gunshot wound during a run-in with an armed neighborhood community watch coordinated, George Zimmerman. The Martin family recently reached a settlement in the wrongful death suit they filed against the homeowners association of the sub-division where Trayvon was killed.
Smh. Some people and their mentality…You can view the Tumblr post compiled of the rest of ignorant tweets captured on Sunday evening, right here.
