Kelly Rowland’s new single had the twitterverse buzzing over the exposed meaning behind the track.
“Dirty Laundry”, released on the internet Wednesday May 15, revealed the singers resentment towards friend and former band-mate, Beyonce. The song also aired minimal details of Rowland’s abusive past with a former boyfriend. And while we know artist tend to give us a story through their music, who knew the story Kelly was telling us all along?
I’m sure I’m not the only one who listened to “Dirty Laundry” and started to connect the dots. The talented singer, who’s often “hidden” in the shadows of her best-friend Beyonce has spoken her truth and now we get it. After I listened to the heartfelt track, I couldn’t help but think of the long list of songs she must’ve sung in the past to get over those hard times.
Just listening to “Girl” isn’t enough. The video starts with Beyonce, Kelly, and Michelle having a girls night out. They turn the television on to watch a show resembling Sex and The City in which the girls start an intervention of some sort with one friend, conveniently played by Kelly Rowland. I’ve always thought that song seemed a little more personal than staged.

Other songs such as Bad Habit, Better Without You, and Rose Colored Glasses also seem to paint the picture of an abusive past.
And speaking of the past, NFL player and the former ex-fiance of Kelly, Roy Williams took to twitter to respond to allegationS of him being the mystery abuser. He also spoke about it with a second tweet. Check out the screencaps below..
But who’s Cuda? Cuda [Love] was the manager of Hip Hop artist Nelly and the alleged ex-boyfriend of Kelly Rowland. He was also associated with singer Teairra Mari a few years back and is widely known behind the scenes in the industry..
Many of Cuda’s friends came to his defense on twitter:
