Media mogul Oprah Winfrey paid an honorary visit to Harvard University, the oldest institution in America early Thursday morning (May 30). The OWN founder was one of nine recognized leaders in the fields of medicine, media, politics & more to receive a ceremonial degree; Winfrey was presented with an honorary Doctor of Laws degree.
After University degrees were conferred, the TV icon slipped out of her celebratory attire and returned for the afternoon exercises to deliver aN auspicious speech at what was Harvard University’s 362nd commencement ceremony…
Here’s an excellent excerpt and life token from her motivating speech:
It doesn’t matter how far you might rise. At some point, you are bound to stumble because if you’re constantly doing what we do, raising the bar [...] the law of averages, not to mention the myth of icaris, predicts that you will at some point fall. And when you do, I want you to remember this: there is no such thing as failure. Failure is just life trying to move us in another direction.
