After only one season, NBC’s Deception will not be returning for a second round.
According to TVGuide.com, the dramatic series started off with nearly 6 million viewers, but as the episodes progressed the ratings dropped to an average of 3.5 million views.
Sadly this will mean that actors Meagan Good and Laz Alonso will be moving on to more acting opportunities. Both stars turned to their Twitter accounts to break the news and thank their loyal fans for their support.
Meagan Good had this much to share:
I’m sorry everyone…I just wanted to let you know that NBC has decided not to renew DECEPTION… and I just wanted you guys to hear from me first… I am so thankful…and humbled..and blessed by the out pour of love and support -to see it come back…and saddened that it is not…Thank you so much for supporting me means so much…Well as I can before…Daddy always does best onward and upward…Thank you NBC for the Opportunity- I’m definitely better for it !…Lego ..
On the other hand, Laz kept it short and sweet:
