The city of Los Angeles rolled out the red carpet Wednesday night (June 5) for writer/director Ryan Coogler at the third annual Celebrate Sundance Institute Benefit.
Coogler was joined by Michael B. Jordan, Ocatavia Spencer, and Melonie Diaz (cast members of his featured film, Fruitvale Station) for a night honoring the up-and-coming director himself.
The 26-year-old director looked nothing less than handsome in a charcoal suit and knit tie as he was presented with the Vanguard Leadership award that night along with the late Roger Ebert.
Fruitvale Station won the Grand Jury Prize and the Audience Award for U.s. dramatic film at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival.
Also in attendance was presenter Kerry Washington and Coogler’s fiance, Zinzi Evans. Check out the full gallery above of the ‘Fruitvale’ cast and others.
