A Roberto Cavalli sketch for Mrs. Carter has gotten everyone in a frenzy when posted to the Clothing line’s Facebook page, Tuesday June 11th.
The sketched image of a bare-legged Beyonce in a Roberto Cavalli gown was created to promote the popstar’s “The Mrs. Carter Show” world tour. Clearly Bey is not starving, but the ad showed more of an anorexic look we all are unfamiliar with.
BeyHives from all over voiced their opinion of the latest sketch on Facebook. Most were quick to criticize the unnatural image of the singer, ultimately sparking up a response from the Cavali Team. Hearing the criticism loud and clear, yesterday, a representative of the brand addressed those who were concerned with the ad portraying Beyonce as a “sickly looking run way model” as one fan puts it.
We would like to clarify that the image of the gown created by Roberto Cavalli for Beyoncé is a sketch and not a photo, and therefore it is only meant to be a stylized and artistic vision.
Roberto Cavalli loves women and more than anyone else has always exalted and highlighted the female shape with his creations, building his signature style on the glorification of sensuality and femininity.
Question is, how does Beyonce feel? Having had issues with the recent H&M campaign shaving off parts of her bodacious bod in its ad, we wonder if she’d pen a letter soon.
