It was bound to happen, the obligatory apology video. Disgraced cooking mogul Paula Deen was in the hot seat during two separate video apologies released Friday afternoon. This is after she was a no-show for her Today show sit down with Matt Lauer.
The first one, which featured an edited up close up glam shot of the cook — was taken down shortly after it was released. The newest, which was not edited, featured a somber Paula, apologizing for her racist and derogatory statements made in a recent deposition.
She wrote the following in the description of the 2nd apology video:
After spending all day soul searching and trying to figure out how to deal with what I did, I recorded a video trying to do the right thing. In the end, I felt that I needed to just be myself, say I am sorry and beg for forgiveness.
What I said was wrong and hurtful. I know that and will do everything that I can do make it right. I am not about hate, and I will devote myself to showing my family, friends and fans how to live a life helping others, lifting us all up, and spreading love.
Whatever! Another one bites the dust. She was just worried about losing all those hefty endorsement checks and messing up her $17 million dollar empire. Well, she did lose a big check because shortly after the video was released, The Food Network decided not to renew her contract later this month. Check out what they said below:
Food Network will not renew Paula Deen’s contract when it expires at the end of this month.
