With the impending July release of his sixth studio album “Blurred Lines”, Robin Thicke has been out and about making his press rounds. He stopped by New York’s Hot 97 radio station to chat with The Morning Show, hosted by Peter Rosenberg, K. Foxx, and Cipha Sounds.
He discussed the new sound of his music, his marriage and family life with Paula Patton, and comparisons with other blue-eyed soul artists.
On the unexpected success of his single “Blurred Lines”:
This is number one in forty countries on the pop charts, so it’s a whole pop thing I’ve never had before…so I can just get fat and die now.
On Justin Timberlake:
He actually helped me alot. His sound went more R&B and more soulful, and that’s what I’ve been doing my whole career, so it really opened up a door [for pop success].
