Rachel Jeantel, the young lady who was on the phone with Trayvon Martin at the start of the incident and the principal witness for the prosecution in the trial of George Zimmerman, offered the nation a straightforward interview with CNN’s Piers Morgan on July 15, 2013.
Jeantel’s testimony was one that caused dispute and a sweeping examination of her overall presentation. Her enunciation, attitude and even intelligence was at the crux of the debate as to whether the Florida teen was indeed a “credible” witness.
During her sit-down with Morgan, Jeantel spoke candidly in her own and Trayvon’s defense, elaborating on her relationship with the slain teen, her understanding of what happened on February 26, 2012, and the “uneducated” remarks made about her testimony.
We watched as the two spoke live on national TV, along with many viewers. Check out more of the conversation that took place on Monday night, with commentary on who Trayvon Martin was (up top) and Jeantel’s reaction to “uneducated” remarks (down below). For additional video segments, visit HERE.
Following her Monday night nationally televised sit-down with Piers Morgan, Rachel Jeantel receives a phone call from Tom Joyner on Tuesday morning. The radio host called to express his admiration for the adolescent, and his desire to help her not only graduate from high school, but offer her a full scholarship to any HBCU in the country, through the Tom Joyner Foundation. Congratulations. We extend our positive thoughts to any good that comes out this unfortunate situation.
