What’s going on, Earl Simmons?
Apparently, Simmons — better known for his moniker DMX — isn’t doing too great these days. According to reports, the rapper/actor has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on Monday, July 29th.
In the Bankruptcy Beat column featured in the Wall Street Journal, it’s noted that the 42-year-old owes $1.24 million in child support and roughly $21,000 on an auto lease. Records also show he’s $1 million to $10 million in debt.
The Chapter 11 petition comes days after the Dark Man’s arrest where he was charged with a DUI by the South Carolina Highway Patrol with failure to provide a valid driver’s license…
However, Domenick Nati, a representative for the rapper says there was never a charge after bail was posted in the amount of $1,235. Nati also issued following statement:
DMX’s financial strains have been inhibiting his career for several years. Poor financial management by prior representation have caused him to be ineligible to retain a passport. The purpose of this bankruptcy filing is for reorganization so he can perform for his fans oversees [sic]. We are currently planning a tour in Europe and Africa for the fall of 2013.
Umm, where his dogs at?
