Lee Daniels’ latest film, ‘The Butler’ hits theaters this Friday, August 16th. The cast has been on a press whirlwind, engaging in conversations all over about the story of Cecil Gaines, the butler who served eight presidential terms, and the topic of race relations in America.
The Grio caught up with co-star Terrence Howard to discuss the film, specifically that of the widespread use of the N-word in the film.
Now I think after seeing a movie like this and a number of films that have come out, we might begin to gain the consciousness and awaken to the fact that maybe it’s [the n-word] something that needs to be removed from the English language.
