Jay Z’s Budweiser Made in America Festival was held for the second year this Labor Day weekend (August 31 – September 1) in Philadelphia. The two day festival hosted an eclectic group of musical acts, spanning all genres and representing what is how now on the scene. Attendees were fortunate to experience the show with beautiful sunny weather.
Day one featured performances from veteran rap group Public Enemy, A$AP Rocky, and 2 Chainz, headlined by none other than Mrs. Carter herself, Beyonce. Public Enemy tore down the headlining Rocky stage with classics like “Fight The Power”, a tardy A$AP Rocky performed for about 15 minutes going through hits like “F*ckin Problems”, 2 Chainz brought together a huge crowd for his energetic set, and Beyonce brought it all home with her showstopping set. Day two featured performances by Solange, Kendrick Lamar and Black Hippy, and Miguel . Solange brought her usual free-spirited vigor to tracks like “Losing You”, Kendrick and the Black Hippy crew tore down the Rocky stage, and Miguel swooned the ladies with his performance at the Liberty Stage.
