George Zimmerman, the same man who was acquitted of second degree murder in the case of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin, is back making headlines after his estranged wife makes a terrifying call to 911.
Shellie Zimmerman, who filed for divorce last Thursday (Sept. 5), called 911 to describe “the assault.”
He punched my dad in the nose, my dad has a mark on his face. And then took my iPad out of my hand and smashed it and cut it with a pocket knife.
Shellie, accompanied by her father, took to Zimmerman’s house in order to collect her belongings, and, as she explains, found her husband holding his gun.
He continually has his hands on his gun and he keeps saying step closer [and] he’s going to shoot us.
The 29-year-old claims to have acted “in a defensive manner” and “never had his hands on his gun.” Zimmerman’s gun was seized but he was not detained or held in custody.
Officers are reviewing surveillance video from the residency, which may have captured what happened during the incident. Charges are not being pressed for now, and Zimmerman is free to go.
