MEET MELO-X. The Brooklyn-bred multi-talented musician with Jamaican roots and a global perspective. MeLo has been honing his craft for some years now through music production, deejaying, remixing, and rapping alike, creating a sound that is all his own. Call it “experimental hip-hop soul” if you will, blending down-tempo rhythms, hard-hitting drums and bass, and lyrical acrobatics.
In 2012, he released two projects – an instrumental album entitled Fewture and a collaborative album entitled Zulu Guru with singer/songwriter Jesse Boykins III – but is now prepping for his first solo vocal album, GOD: Pièce de Résistance.
The lead single off his forthcoming album, “A Tree Must Be A Tree” is premiering exclusively here on Concrete Loop. Take a listen down below and get into the more vulnerable side of MeLo, singing a tale of heartbreak.
