If you’re a New York resident or in the city looking for a creative domain and expressive people to collaborate with, you’re in luck.
Musician Questlove and NYC’s Mayor Bloomberg have launched the Made in NY Media Center –– a hub that will “embrace forward-thinking, like minded artists” in various disciplines.
The new space, located at 30 John Street in DUMBO, Brooklyn, is designed to support “storytellers, creative professionals and entrepreneurs” across film, art, music, new media, games and storytelling to summon and create whatever their hearts desire, so long as it promotes New York as an innovative hub.
Opening Oct. 15, the 20,000-square-foot center by IFP will serve as the first government-sponsored incubator focusing on digital media. Along with community space, the center will have desks, classrooms, an art gallery, a screening room, a cafe and workspace for film, television, video, gaming, technology and advertising professionals.
