Meet Olamide. You may recognize this singer-songwriter from his days in the 90s R&B boy group, Imajin. You may also remember him as Miles Robinson from the PBS children’s television program, Sesame Street. Well now, years after parting ways with the guys and moving on from the show, this actor has stepped out into his own and is embarking his solo endeavor.
Back in 2011, the talented guitarist released a 7-song compilation entitled Live from the Bitter End, which he recorded as a means to share his music with followers and supporters. After consistently creating a buzz throughout New York City, Olamide was invited to perform at a BET’s Music Matters showcase and was highlighted on BET’s 106 & Park as an artist to watch. To this day, Faison performs original songs at a plethora of venues in New York City and his raw, capturing, and soulful gift has taken him around the country.
In light of the holidays, Faison premiered his own piano and guitar-laden rendition of the Mel Tormé and Bob Wells-written holiday tune, “The Christmas Song.” If you live on the East coast and experienced any of this snowy weather, then you’ll definitely appreciate hearing this smooth classic.
Listen to his relaxing rendition of the Nat King Cole-original up top. It’s available for free download as well. Down below, you’ll find a video of him performing an original tune called “My Love.”
