After goading us with two tracks, “Jerk Ribs” and “Been Given A Morning,” Kelis announces her forthcoming LP, FOOD. Originally set to debut in the Fall 2013, FOOD is now slated to be released on April 28, 2014.
The singer has signed to UK independent record label, Ninja Tune, just in time for her resurgence.
I’m really happy to be partnering with Ninja Tune on my new record. This is the album I’ve wanted to make for a long time and I want the team around me to be as excited and energetic about it as I am. I’m also very happy to be working with some of the most creative people in the industry.
Rihanna Neck and Neck with MJ
Owing to her feature on Eminem‘s second Marshall Mathers LP II single “The Monster,” Rihanna is now tied-up with Michael Jackson’s string of 13 No.1 singles in the US, according to Billboard.
This puts MJ and RiRi on the heels of The Beatles (20) and Mariah Carey (18) as far as the most No.1 hits, but has them, both, in front of Madonna and The Supremes (both 12).
Congrats to the Bajan songstress.
