After releasing her fifth studio album on Friday, December 13th, Beyonce has not only set a new music industry trend when it comes to album releases, but has set a few records of her own.
Within 24 hours of releasing her impromptu visual compilation, the “Grown Woman” songstress sold over 80,000 copies within 3 hours and over 400k by the following day – according to Billboard magazine. Not only this, but she sold an additional 120k and climbed to the No. 1 spot on the iTunes charts of over 110 countries.
The music publication believed she’ll hit the 600k mark by Sunday evening (December 15). This album makes the fifth consecutive No. 1 debut on the Billboard 200 chart for Mrs. Carter.
Word on the web is that her first two singles will be her Jay Z-assisted track, “Drunk in Love.” and Pharrell Williams-produced “Blow.” It is also believed that her next single for the top of 2014 will be “XO,” written by Ryan Tedder and The-Dream.
