Tamron Hall has made history! She will be the first black woman to co-anchor the Today Show.
The 41 year-old already has her own show on MSNBC, but will add more to her plate as the co-host of the 9 o’clock hour of ‘Today’ with Natalie Morales, Al Roker and Willie Geist.
She spoke exclusively with Essence Magazine about her new gig:
..I knew what was happening with my negotiations behind the scenes and I thought, wow, these big moments at NBC News and now I’m a part of this for women, for Black women, for all of us. And I’m just taken aback by it. I can’t even describe to you how it feels.
This is definitely a good look and it’s obvious that they are trying to compete with ABC’s Robin Roberts for ratings. However, Tamron has a great appeal and has already been filling in regularly on the show. I’m excited to see what she brings. Congrats Tamron!!
