Teresa Heinz Kerry joined Michelle Obama at Carnegie Mellon University Wednesday saying she hoped the state would support the Obama campaign the way it had for both of her husbands.

“Pennsylvania voted for both of these good men,” she said, referring to the late John Heinz, a former Republican senator in the state, and Sen. POLITICS: THE ELECTORAL COLLEGE

Thursday, March 27, 2008 |

( Map of number of electoral votes by state )

On Thursday, Sen. Bill Nelson, D-FL, proposed an overhaul of America’s presidential election laws that included awarding the presidency based on popular vote, instead of using the Electoral College. “The goal is simple: one person, one vote,” Nelson said.
