SHOW STOPPER OF THE WEEK: HALLE BERRY

Sunday, May 3, 2009 |

halleshow
Halle Berry managed to steal the show at the premiere of a film she isn’t even in, which gives her this week’s title of Show Stopper Of The Week.

Berry worked the carpet this week wearing a black skin tight Herve Leger dress with Camilla Skovgaard T-strap Sandals ($440). She also showed off her new asymmetrical bob, with honey highlights that framed her glowing face.

Get a similar sexy dress like the one Halle is wearing above with French Connection’s Sexy Saraha Dress ($178) or Bebe’s mesh Inset Seamless dress ($59).

HOT OR NOT: YSL CAGED BOOTIES

Saturday, May 2, 2009 |

yslcage

Cage d accessories are definitely a must have for this Summer, and leading the pack are these $1590 YSL Caged booties from the Spring/Summer 2009 collection. Beyonce and Ciara have been seen rocking their high priced pairs lately.

What do you think of the cage boot - sort of interesting? If you’re feeling the look, and not the price - I found some more reasonable choices online:

OBSESSION: DISTRESSED DENIM!

Saturday, May 2, 2009 |

You’ve seen it in about every post this past week - at least one person has on a pair of distressed or ripped jeans! This style of denim has been the jean trend for a minute now, but it has come to my attention lately how celebrities have heavily jumped on it. A good pair of classic denim pants just don’t do it anymore I suppose?

I can dig a few pairs - but any jean that is slashed from hip to ankle, is a waste (just get yourself a pair of shorts and call it a day). My favorite would be these from the S/S 09′ Balmain collection - check out more of my picks available right online:

CL BEAUTY: GOING NATURAL

Friday, May 1, 2009 |

These days, more sisters are embracing their natural hair - straying away from harsh relaxers and drying chemicals for a more free feel to their hair. The transition to going natural can be a tough and lengthy decision for some (chopping off your hair/growing out a relaxer) - but, the end result can be well worth it.

In entertainment, where glam and long lengths are to the full front - it’s always great to see others like India Arie, Jill Scott, and Erykah Badu hit the stage with natural dope hairstyles. Its also great to see the growing movement of locking, that’s has even been considered trendy these days despite its roots and historic value. Continue Reading »

HOT ITEMS: DIGITAL ACCESSORIES

Saturday, April 25, 2009 |

While looking at my May issue of Elle magazine, I saw a spotlight on Spring 2009 trends featuring graphite patterns. Many runways are getting more technical with their designs - featuring pixelated prints on clothing in collections (check out Dries Van Noten runway show).

I happen to think it’s more interesting to get technical with accessories - like the ones above. Check out the leather pixelated necklace from Mike and Maaike, that was designed from a collection of still images. Or how about a keyboard purse - that comes in a variety of other colors, made by Joao Sabino.
