Looks like Rihanna will have to take the stand in Chris Brown’s felony assault case on June 22nd, her attorney confirmed:
“The judge advised me that there will be a subpoena for Rihanna as a witness at the preliminary hearing,” Donald Etra told E! News after a morning hearing. “She will definitely comply.”
And according to Chris’ attorney Mark Geragos, Chris will also be present at the hearing and will listen to her testimony: “He has to be here anytime a witness is called” said Geragos.
On Thursday, a judge denied a motion by Geragos, to require the LAPD to release confidential records to determine who leaked a photo of a beaten Rihanna to the media. Chris has pleaded not guilty to assault and criminal threats charges stemming from their February incident.

In light of the alleged photos of Rihanna that leaked on the net on Friday, many people have been speculating that Chris Brown is responsible for the whole incident, claiming some type of payback. His spokesperson spoke with Essence Magazine and denounced any connection to the photos:
“This is both a false and defamatory statement. Chris has not released or ‘leaked’ any photos of Rihanna (or anyone else for that matter).”
Chris is expected back in court later on this month for his pending felony assault charges in connection with the February incident with Rihanna.
JOJO CAUGHT W/ WEED + OTHER CHARGES
Rap legend Rev Run’s teenage son Joseph “Jojo” Simmons Jr. from Run’s House was arrested Friday night in Manhattan’s Upper West Side for possession of marijuana.
TMZ reports:
the 19-year old was seen allegedly buying the marijuana and rolling a joint while sitting in a car on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. We’re told he tried to get away by throwing his car into reverse, and nearly backed into the officer’s car.
He was also booked for resisting arrest, attempted reckless endangerment, and criminal use of drug paraphernalia.
The new season of Run’s house is expected to premiere later on this month, I wonder if they will speak on this on the show.

Entertainer Chris Brown hangs his head down low after leaving his arraignment appearance at the Superior Court of Los Angeles County on Monday, April 6th in California.
Chris Brown alongside his Attorney Mark Geragos pleaded not guilty on both felony counts for an assault on the alleged victim ‘Robyn F.’, who is reportedly singer Rihanna, during an argument on February 8, 2009.
Sources inside the courtroom say Chris’ mom spent the entire preliminary hearing either in tears or praying for her 19-year-old son. Chris also brought along four bodyguards with him. Brown is due back in court on April 29.

Actor Tyrese Gibson recently caught up with People Magazine and spoke to them about how Chris Brown is doing amid his media scandal with girlfriend Rihanna. He said it’s taking it’s toll on the young stars:
Although he appears to be really strong through all of this, it’s really taking a toll on his spirit. People like me and Puff, we’re just trying to show him love and keep his spirits up while he’s going through all of the heat, and there are a lot people doing the same for Rihanna.
It’s really hard for him to focus right now on his music, even though he really wants to. At the end of the day, I’m not trying to justify it because wrong is wrong, but unfortunately, us as entertainers, we have to grow up on stage with a lot of people looking at us. And a lot of people forget that he’s 19, she’s only 21. [SOURCE]
Chris is expected to appear back in court on April 6th to finish his arraignment appearance, after being granted an continuance earlier this month.
50 CENT GETS REPLACED
Looks like Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson might not be concentrating on a budding actor career, as we stated recently.
Sylvester Stallone who just announced last week that the G-Unit rapper would be replacing Forrest Whitaker in his new blockbuster action flick, The Expendables, has recast the role once again — to actor/comedian Terry Crews. No word on why he was suddenly replaced.
Wonder if 50 will put out a diss song about it?

In more updates with the Rihanna/Chris controversy, Chris Brown withdrew his nomination from Nickelodeon’s Kid Choice Awards and his rep also released this statement today:
Unfortunately, the controversy surrounding the incident last month has shifted the focus from the music to whether he should be allowed to be among those nominated.
While Chris would like to speak to his fans directly about this and other issues, pending legal proceedings preclude his doing so at this time. Once the matter before him has been resolved, he intends to do so.”
