The following statement was issued by a spokesman on behalf of Chris Brown on Sunday (February 15):
“Words cannot begin to express how sorry and saddened I am over what transpired. I am seeking the counseling of my pastor, my mother and other loved ones and I am committed, with God’s help, to emerging a better person. Much of what has been speculated or reported on blogs and/or reported in the media is wrong. While I would like to be able to talk about this more, until the legal issues are resolved, this is all I can say except that I have not written any messages or made any posts to Facebook, on blogs or any place else. Those posts or writings under my name are frauds.” [source]
As reported, Chris was charged with one count felony criminal threats (more charges could be added after the DA is finished reviewing the case) and is expected to attend court on March 5th in Los Angeles. The 19 year-old has hired popular defense attorney, Mark Geragos to represent him.

I’ve been getting emails from readers asking why I haven’t been updating on the Chris Brown and Rihanna incident and it’s because I REFUSE TO POST SPECULATIONS AND RUMORS. However, I will post statements and facts.
With that said, hip-hop mogul Jay-Z spoke with People Magazine on Saturday night about the incident and expressed his support for Rihanna.
“This is a real situation,” he said in Phoenix at the Sprite Green presents the Third Annual Two Kings dinner with Jay-Z and Lebron James, as part of the NBA All-Star Weekend.
“You have to have compassion for others. Just imagine it being your sister or mom and then think about how we should talk about that. I just think we should all support her. She’s going through a tough time. You have to realize she’s a young girl, as well. She’s very young.”
Asked if he’d seen Rihanna, Jay-Z replied, “I don’t want to go into it.” [source]
RIHANNA’S FATHER SPEAKS
People also had a chance to speak to Rihanna’s father, Ronald Fenty, this past Thursday:
When he first heard that his daughter had been attacked by Chris Brown, “I didn’t believe it.”
“I know my daughter,” said Fenty, 55. As for Brown, he said, “You think you know somebody, but you really don’t.”
Describing Rihanna’s current condition after seeing her in Barbados on Thursday, Fenty said, “There is some bruising. She will be all right. I think so.”
He adds, “At some point, she will speak out. I hope she will stand up for women all over the world.” [SOURCE]
According to her father, Rihanna is currently recouping in Barbados with friends and family. Chris Brown, on the other hand, is reportedly in Virgina with family and is expected to be back in LA on March 5th for his scheduled court date.

T.I. SPOKE TO CHRIS ON MONDAY
In an interview with Carson Daly, T.I. said he spoke to Chris Brown on Monday.
T.I. maintained that he is unaware of what exactly happened during the Sunday incident, however, T.I. said people should refrain from judging Brown:
“Yeah, I spoke to him today. He cool, you know. I guess he a little concerned about the situation, but he’s still the same Chris. I told him this too shall pass.
Hey man, you people gotta remember, we celebrities and we entertainers but we still human. All of us…Don’t expect us not to make mistakes ‘cause we will.”
T.I., who has his own set of legal woes, is going to be doing a year in prison for pleading guilty to US federal weapons charges. He expected to go into custody next month.
