It’s New Years Eve and finally time for our last list of flashbacks from 2006. Fashion changes every year, with reinvention of the old and introduction of the new. Many of the stylish trends and hot looks from ‘06 came directly from the red carpets, as stars were decked out - some looking the best they ever looked. Now its time to highlight this closing year in style and fashion - giving out recognition based on the response from the general public and comments from our CL visitors:

UPGRADE OF ‘06 (FEMALE) - RIHANNA

Rihanna has upgraded herself tremendously this year. We remember when she first hit the scene as a cute little island girl. Now she’s a certified sexy young lady getting love from everyone. Already scoring a Cover Girl contract and wearing exclusive designs from Dolce & Gabbana, she’s on her way to becoming Hollywood’s next big thing.

CL’S TOP 5 ‘WTF MOMENTS’ OF 2006

Since there was some confusion about the first list I posted, I wanted to make it clear that these lists were compiled after I went through every CL post of the year. It’s a list to show who yall commented on the most, or who we posted about the most. So if you don’t like the list that’s your damn problem.

#1: THREE 6 MAFIA WINNING AN OSCAR

We all screamed WTF when Three 6 won an Oscar for Best Song in an Original Motion Picture. Everyone automatically wrote them off and said they were lucky to even be nominated, but I guess the Academy had other plans. Keep popping those collars!

#2: NE-YO CAUGHT WITH HIS PANTS DOWN

These pictures caused the CL server to crash, and generated a lot of comments. I already knew it was Ne-Yo because how could you not tell, but everyone else was like that wasn’t him. Nevertheless, he came out and admitted his was getting some head from one of his backup dancers. What’s wrong with that?

CL’S BIG IN ‘06 SONG LIST!

You either love them, or what you hate them, but these are some of the most memorable songs (or artists) for ‘06. These are the songs that you couldn’t turn on the radio without hearing. From artist comeback songs, to songs that just were bumped in cars and clubs alike all day, every day. There was a lot of music to come out in ‘06, but this is just a look at some of the songs that we just couldn’t seem to stay away from, no matter how good or bad they were!

CASSIE - ME & U (DOWNLOAD)

She pretty much came out of nowhere, and blew up over night on MySpace. No matter how much we hate her, and how little talent she has, Cassie had the #1 song in the country and everyone was bobbing their head to the Ryan Leslie-produced single. Cassie’s album was released during the summer and debuted at #1 on the Billboard charts, proving that it doesn’t take talent to have a #1 album. Let’s see if she can twerk it out the second time around.

GNARLS BARKLEY - CRAZY (DOWNLOAD)

Cee-Lo Green and DJ Danger Mouse became the crazy imaginaries behind the vivid images and oddball sounds of the enigma that is Gnarls Barkley. They crossed boundaries and reached a huge audience with the single “Crazy” and it spread like wildfire. Even if you don’t know the group, you know the song. With huge success in the United States, and overseas, Gnarls Barkley and their album “St. Elsewhere” were definitely big in ‘06.

CL’S TOP 15 ‘HOT ASS MESSES’ OF 2006

Anyway, CL Posts STAY flooded with HOT ASS MESSES, so you know this is going to be crazy as hell! I actually had fun putting this one together….

#1: REMY MA

Remy Ma won CL’s 1st HAM of the month title, so it comes to no surprise that she tops the year end list. Who could forget the infamous butt shorts picture (dont’ she look rank?) and my Rick James comparison? I have a feeling Remy is going to top next year’s list too.

CL’S TOP 10 COUPLES OF 2006

Since 2006 is winding down, I thought it would be dope to do a few posts with a top 10 lists of random topics of the year. First up, CL’s Top 10 popular couples of 2006.

After looking and laughing through every post we made this year, I compiled some of your favorite or in some cases, least favorite couples of the year. We really only have like 20 couples in black hollywood anyway, but that’s another post. Now on to the list!!

#1: JAY-Z & BEYONCE

Hate it or Love, Jayonce was heavliy talked about this year. Whether it was those bogus wedding rumors that were circulating the net, or those random beach-side & court-side candids that you love us for. We made sure to post about it. You all know you secretly love seeing these two anyway! Those comments speak a 1000 words.

#2: JERMAINE & JANET

Yep, J&J came in 2nd place for 2006. We posted candids, event shots, and more of these two. Not to mention, all the TMI posts with Janet talking about how good a lover Jermaine is. He got her ass sprung out on his shit. I ain’t mad at cha Jermaine!
