As a matter of fact, she came out around the same time as Rihanna. She released a new single earlier this year and is supposed to release a new album via Interscope Records.
Over the weekend, I attended Solange’s show here in Atlanta with a couple of friends, including Dorion from BET’s College Hill: Atlanta. The show was amazing - Solange is really proving herself this time around. Not only did she look absolutely amazing, but she performed with a broken toe, and sounded wonderful. She had a stage presence that was really captivating. Her set was fresh, and she was just a pleasure to watch.
I also would just like to wish Solange a happy 22nd birthday tomorrow! Her party is today in LA!

Tyra Banks attended the 35th annual Daytime Emmy Awards in Hollywood on Friday. The former supermodel-turned-talk show host won an Emmy for outstanding informative talk show for the infamous bathing suit photo incident that hit the net earlier last year.
“I’m shaking,” Banks, the talk show’s host and executive producer, said as she took the stage to collect her prize.
“I have such a strong history with daytime television. My mama… Where’s my mama? My mama’s crying like a baby! Hi Mama,” the model-turned-TV personality said.
Banks also cited Oprah Winfrey as inspiration:
“I want to thank Oprah Winfrey for her inspiration,” Tyra said. “She is the queen. She will always be the queen.”
Tyra and her show is annoying at times, but I give props when props are due. Congrats to her!
While Will Smith is overseas on heavy promo for his new movie, Jada Pinkett Smith took their children Jaden and Willow to the NYC premiere of ‘Kit Kittredge: An American Girl’. Little Willow is co-starring in the movie, hence all the face time at the various premieres.
