Fashion Week in NY has started and Gwen Stefani’s LAMB line was one of the collections to go down the runway and display it’s spring 2008 line. Stars like Diddy and Eve came to check out the new clothing, its been 2 years since Gwen’s line has hit the catwalk.

Last Night The Wall Street Journal hosted the launch of Alek Wek’s new book at Socialista in NYC. The book, entitled Alek: From Sudanese Refugee to International Supermodel, is Alek’s journey from a young refugee to supermodel stardom. Please go out and support it.

Venus & Serena Williams put their game faces on at Opening Night of the US Open, held at the Arthur Ashe Stadium last night. There was a special guest performance by Aretha Franklin and a pre-game ceremony honoring black women in history including Althea Gibson, the first African-American woman to be a competitor on a world tennis tour. Also honored was the first black female astronaut Dr. Mae Jemison, Olympic medalists Debi Thomas, Jackie Joyner Kersee and more.

Beyonce announced the Canadian launch of her “Dereon” junior clothing line in Toronto yesterday. Also there was her Mother and designer Tina Knowles, and Dereon spokesmodel Solange Knowles. All the ladies were decked out in the line’s current apparel, with Beyonce wearing the Dereon Nefertiti dress.
Ya’ll can say what you want about Bee but, her clothing line is doing pretty well. You see everywhere wearing it and alot of the pieces are cute in that Beyonce way. In the lastest Beyonce news, she is releasing a Spanish language EP on August 21st featuring select songs from B’Day - titled “Irreemplazable”
The 2nd Annual Ozone Awards went down in Miami yesterday and a lot rappers and reality television rejects attended. I have no words for some of these pictures and as you can see Trina & Jacki-O were backstage looking like some broke down heroes. I take that back, they don’t look that bad. On to the pics!
