Check out “Bed” singer J. Holiday’s first single from his forthcoming sophomore album, due out in the spring of 2009. The track was produced by Big Reese and Jasper Cameron, who also had a hand in one of my favorites, “Promise” by Ciara.
I actually really like this song, but like I’ve always said about J. Holiday. I’m hoping that this single is representative of the rest of the material on his album. On Back of My ‘Lac, I wasn’t really impressed with the majority of his songs, aside from the singles, and one of my other favorites, “Fatal.”

Lil’ Kim joins forces with T-Pain, who recently released his new album, Thr33 Ringz. The production finds T-Pain sampling one of my favorite oldies, “Computer Love.” So it automatically gets my vote… It seems as though she’s jumping on this technology bandwagon that people have been following as of late.
I’m actually kinda glad to be hearing this, considering that I was a little disappointed by that last song we got from Kim, “Respirator,” in which she was singing through the whole song in auto-tune. No word on Kim’s new project, except for hearing that she will be releasing independently, which I think will be a really good look for her. It’s been working well for Fat Joe, and Kim has been around long enough to pull in sales from her fans.

We reported just a little while ago that songstress Toni Braxton inked a new deal with Atlantic Records and will be working with Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins for her new album. The as yet untitled album is due out sometime around April 2009. Here is a track entitled “Melt.”
I don’t think this has been confirmed as a new single, just something to show that Toni is still around and working. I’m glad it sounds mature, because I was hoping that Toni wasn’t going to come back and jump on a trend that’s in music.

We’re only a couple of weeks away from the release of the new Kanye West album, 808’s & Heartbreaks (due out November 24th now) and we have another new song for you. Unmixed and unmastered material has leaked and Kanye has already released two videos from the set. The latest of the leaks is the new Young Jeezy-assisted “Amazin’.” I really love the simplicity of the song.
Also, since Kanye has tried his hand at singing on this new album, I really am interested to know if he’s the one behind the background vocals on the album. Is it Kanye? In any event, it wouldn’t be a party of Young Jeezy wasn’t invited. So you know we have to ask you guys that age-old question…

You may remember this girl from an artist spotlight that we did on her last year. But now M$ney is back on the scene with a new single she premiered on her MySpace page entitled “Future,” which is supposedly written by our good friends at The Clutch.
I’ve always been intrigued by this girl, ever since she debuted on Timbaland’s last album, Shock Value on the Walter Milsap-produced “Fantasy.” It seems that M$ney is gearing up to put the finishing touches on her debut album and much of it will have these pop synth dance sound. So what do you think of the new track from M$ney?
Check out M$ney on MySpace and make sure you show her some CL love!

Is Kelly Rowland about to put together a new album? After the disappointing sales of her sophomore effort, 2007’s flash in the pan Ms. Kelly, Rowland hightailed it overseas and gave interviews where she revealed that she was working on a third album.
Although I’m not mad at the song, I’m hoping that “Blaze” is something from the sessions Kelly held for Ms. Kelly because she can’t keep giving us this same sound, if she wants to remain relevant in the United States. So what do you think?
Check out Kelly’s MySpace and always remember to keep it locked on CL.

With the release of his new single and video, “Love Lockdown,” fans are very much in anticipation for Kanye West’s new album, 808’s & Heartbreaks, which is schedule for November 25th release. He’s given us a taste of his second forthcoming single, “Heartless,” which finds Kanye rapping again, but lending his own vocal chops on the hook. Rumor has it that a great portion of this album will have Kanye singing (and with autotune).
