Meet Timothy Bloom. This North Carolina native is ready to take the music industry by storm. Not only is he a singer but he plays the drums, piano, guitar, and bass. Citing Jimi Hendrix, Bob Marley, The Beetles, Jeff Buckley, Marvin Gaye, and more as influences, you can’t help but feel his sound.
Timothy is currently unsigned but is living out of Los Angeles working on his debut album, Life Without Music. Make sure you listen to his song “Wonderful” and give your two cents.
Another piece of Brandy’s material from her new album, Human is leaking, much to Brandy fans delight. “First N Luv” was produced by Hit Boy and is supposedly the second single from Brandy’s forthcoming album. Human is set to drop November 11th, and she has already shot a video for the first single, “Right Here (Departed).”
The Gym Class Heroes team up with British singer and now American fan favorite, Estelle for their new track, “Guilty As Charged.” Peep the song and give your two cents.
Earlier this week Solange leaked a snippet of a new song on her MySpace. The Mark Ronson produced “6 O’Clock Blues” is a mellow, feel-good track, which finds Solange at a vulnerable point, crooning over melodic guitar, “Yeah, you keep me sheltered from the 6 o’clock blues…”
The song is to be featured on Solange’s sophomore album, SoL-Angel & the Hadley Street Dreams, which drops August 26th. Now it’s time to hear your feedback…
Meet Tash, fusion of fashion and music. Inspired by Tina Turner, Diana Ross, Kelis & Brandy, this Jersey Girl is ready to hit the music scene.
Currently working with her mentor Kwamé, Tash is now in the process of recording her first full-length album, collaborating with newcomers Stereotypes (Danity Kane’s “Damaged”), Corna Boys, Drake and Atozzio, to name a few. Check out her single, “I’m Do Me,” produced by the Corna Boys, which has already begun to get a push from radio in New York.
Drawing closer and closer to her release date of August 12th for her new LP, Janelle Monáe is releasing some of her more political songs out to get young voters riled up about this year’s election! “Mr. President” is a political burner, written and produced by Nate Wonder, Chuck Lightning and Monáe herself.
The song, with its blaring horns, has been said to be reminiscent of Lauryn Hill, however Janelle has a delivery all her own. “Mr. President” is one of the gems that will be featured on her August release, Metropolis, which hits stores and online everywhere next week, on the 12th. Make sure you pick up the EP and look out for her full album in January.
Meet Rantz, a 21-year-old New Orleans native and resident who apparently has a thing for Georgia peaches! Signed to Damm Guud Entertainment, an Indie label, Rantz croons about his love for an Atlanta chick, and hopes to take the nation by storm with his ode to southern belles.
I think the reason I first connected with the song is because I’m from Atlanta, and heard many landmarks from my city, so I automatically could relate. Not only that, but I am really digging Rantz’s smooth tone and delivery. So what do you think?
