Robin Thicke pays tribute to the late, great Whitney Houston by covering her classic from the original motion picture soundtrack to Waiting To Exhale, “Exhale (Shoop Shoop).” We were pleasantly surprised by the unexpected acoustic cover. It’s not really the first song that you think about when talking songs to tribute Whitney!
Everyone thought it was a good idea to drop on Valentine’s Day, including Lil’ Kim. Check out her brand new song, “If You Love Me,” which, no doubt, is quite appropriate given the holiday. The 37-year-old rapstress hasn’t released an album since 2005′s The Naked Truth and got mixed reviews on her Black Friday mixtape earlier last year.
Although the song is for sale on iTunes, it’s doubtful that Kim would make such a specific song the first single from her long-awaited fifth studio album. It’s just good to not hear her talk about Nicki. Sure wish it was the other way around too!
Check out brand new music from Chingy. The St. Louis native is working on a new album, as well as dropping a new mixtape, Jackpot Back, mixed by DJ Noize. “Let It Go,” produced by Jae Class is the first material that Chingy will release a visual for.
Chingy’s new mixtape is due out early March, while his album is slated to drop this spring.
The rapper/actor formerly known as Mos Def, Yasiin Bey, offers up his take on The Throne’s hit single “Niggas in Paris” as the first contribution to his Top 40 Underdog series on which he’ll rework Top 40 hits. Let us know how much you’re feeling it.
