Wow! Who would have thought Common and Drake would have hip-hop beef? After coming after Drake on the song “Sweet” (off of his Dreamer/Believer album), Common fires back again. This is only because Drake supposedly threw some subliminals on the Rick Ross song “Stay Schemin’” he is featured on. Drake says, “Don’t be ducking like you never wanted nothin / It’s feeling like rap changed, it was a time it was rugged / Back when if a nigga reached, it was for the weapon / Nowadays niggas reach just to sell their record.”
Now Common took it a step further and fully put the Canadian rapper on blast saying, “My motto is Chicago bitch / Everybody know you sweet, what the problem is/ Don’t play dumb, I’m the one that acknowledged it/ Son of a bitch, imagine what your father is.” He also says later in the verse, “I’m taking too long with this amateur guy/You ain’t wet nobody, nigga, you Canada dry.”
Looks like Common is telling Drake he better respect his elders! Will Drake respond directly on a track? We’ll see..
It’s the top of a brand new year and Teyana Taylor is beginning to make her move back into the music scene. Her new track, “Make Your Move” featuring rapper Wale, showcases the “Google Me” singer’s matured vocal skills over an uptempo, body-movin’ beat. It is said that this track will be on her debut album, The Misunderstanding of Teyana Taylor. Check, check it!
Previous American Idol winner Ruben Studdard hasn’t released any music since 2009′s Love Is, but he’s back with a new single, “Rock Witcha,” featuring Memphis native K. Michelle. The track (which is a Bobby Brown remake), is lifted from his upcoming fifth studio album, Letters From Birmingham, which is slated to hit stores next year.
