Check out the new first single from Barbadian singer/songwriter Shontelle, “Licky,” from her sophomore album of the same title.
Shontelle first made her splash into the scene last year, with her mildly popular hit, “T-Shirt,” from her debut album, Shontelligence. On her sophomore project, Shontelle has decided to change the direction a little. She declared, “I’m going much edgier. There is a rock chick waiting to come out of me.”

Seems as though Alicia Keys will also suffer from a push back this time around, with her fourth studio album, The Element of Freedom.
The album was supposed to drop December 1st on World AIDS Day, but it seems as though the album will drop two weeks later, on December 15th.
Alicia claims, via her Twitter page that the album is being pushed back because she is loving “having the freedom to create beautiful music.” Good for you, Alicia!
Keys is currently promoting her first single from the album, “Doesn’t Mean Anything,” which has hit #61 on the Billboard charts. With the video just releasing, she has already made plans to release a second single, titled “Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart,” which is slated to impact radio in the coming weeks.

50 Cent - Criminal Wave (full) - listen
50 Cent has had a couple of setbacks while trying to release his fourth studio album, Before I Self Destruct, but music continues to leak. The new track, “Criminal Wave,” honestly, has been some of the most promising material I’ve heard from the album. Before I Self Destruct is set to hit stores on November 23rd, which is a big release date for a lot of artists.
Toni Braxton - Woman (full) - listen
One of my personal favorites, Toni Braxton has announced a while back that she was releasing her new album, Pulse, later on this year. It seems that now, she’s pushing the album back to 2010. This new track, “Woman,” was produced by Kuya and is supposedly a leak from the sessions from the new album. I’m eager to see what Toni’s album is going to sound like, considering the difference in a lot of the materials that have leaked. We’ll see!

Seems as though super producer Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins has sat down again with MTV.com to spill the beans about Janet Jackon’s upcoming eleventh studio album.
We knew that Janet was gearing up to release a #1’s album, led by the single, “Make Me,” this year on November 17th, but it seems as though he has some news about what’s to come next year with her next record, which is presently untitled.
“Janet is like my sister now,” Jerkins told MTV News on October 21th, at his Los Angeles recording studio.
“We definitely have this incredible chemistry, this bond — I think we musically connect, crazily. I knew it — it’s funny ’cause I predicted this. Five years ago, people used to ask me who I wanted to work with, and I was like, ‘Janet Jackson.’ And I was so passionate about that because I’ve always been a fan of her music and what her and Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis have done in the past. And I felt like, knowing she wants to try new things, that I feel I can get it and I can deliver it for her,” he said. [SOURCE]
Rodney assures us that this next project will be an “emotionally driven album,” considering that Janet just lost her brother, as well as ended a seven year relationship with her long-term boyfriend, producer Jermaine Durpi. He also says you can expect some up-tempo dance tracks on the new album, it won’t have the futuristic sound we heard on her last project, 2008’s Discipline.
No official release date on when Janet’s eleventh studio album will drop, but expect it sometime at the top of next year.
KELLY ROWLAND ALBUM NEWS
Since having the #1 song in the world with David Guetta from his latest album, One Love, Kelly Rowland has been in and out of the studio and producer Rico Love took some time to sit down with Rap-Up.com.
“I’m actually going to be doing the majority of her record,” reveals the songwriter “I did three records for her album so far and she’s touring right now.”
Kelly, who hosted Bravo’s The Fashion Show, recently parted ways with Columbia Records and Music World Entertainment, is said to be working out a new deal with EMI, but no official announcement has been made.
Rowland, who is presently on tour, will not have much time for rest during the holiday season. Rico also revealed that the two will be finishing up the album, a follow-up to 2007’s Ms. Kelly, during the Christmas holiday.

Ester Dean - Yeah Right (full) - listen
Since the release of the “Drop It Low” video, featuring Chris Brown, since getting their first look at Ester Dean, people have been eager to hear more material from her. We’ve heard her perspective as a writer, but folks wanted to hear more of Ester Dean as an artist. “Yeah Right” is supposedly a track that leaked from Ester’s album, which we have heard very little information about it. It’s produced by a team known as the Knightwritaz. Although not as catchy as “Drop It Low,” I see the potential in Dean’s material.
Ne-Yo - Love You (full) - listen
Seems as though more music from Ne-Yo has leaked, and this time, it’s “Love You,” produced by Chuck Harmony. Not sure if this is really material that Ne-Yo is cooking up for himself, because it could very likely be a demo for someone else. Some people may argue that Ne-Yo’s songs all sound alike, but this track really just obviously exposes Ne-Yo’s versatility. How you can go from this, to writing tracks like the new Rihanna single, “Russian Roulette” is truly incredible.

Just a couple of weeks ago, Chris Brown released his new single from his upcoming third studio album, Graffiti, featuring Lil’ Wayne and Swizz Beatz. Via his Twitter page, Chris also announced that ballad would follow-up.
“Crawl” is supposedly the dual first single from the new album. Interesting enough that a brooding forgiveness song leaks from Chris Brown after the leaking of Rihanna’s first single, “Russian Roulette.”
In any event, Chris shot a video with Swizz and Wayne this week for “I Can Transform Ya,” so if Chris is actually releasing two singles at once, we can expect one for “Crawl” to follow soon after.
