Vivian Green reveals the album cover for her upcoming third album, Beautiful.
Recording the album in the home studio of longtime friend and collaborator Anthony Bell, who contributed to both of her previous albums, Vivian says, “It’s the most fun I’ve ever had making a record,” which also includes four tracks co-written with her younger brother, aspiring rapper Solomon Green.
Leela James returns with My Soul, her third album and debut on Stax Records, set for release on May 25.
Here’s the video for the first single (and Leela’s favorite from the record), “Tell Me You Love Me”, which showcases the singer’s incorporation of contemporary R&B and soul music with its sample of the Manhattans’ “Then You Can Tell Me Goodbye”.
Check out Sade performing the title track from the band’s latest album Soldier of Love, which debuted at No. 1, selling over 500,000 units and also marking the best sales week for an album by a band or group.
In an interview with National Post, Sade addressed rumors that she’s collaborating with Drake and Kanye West:
I don’t think they have contacted me. I’ve never collaborated because I’ve always avoided working outside my safety zone — I can be exactly who I am and can fail or success within the moment. I feel safe working like I do. I wouldn’t want to work in a situation where I am expected to deliver because I think I wouldn’t deliver.
Modest much? When asked about the next album, she admitted that she hadn’t listened to Soldier of Love in its entirety yet and that “I won’t know what our next album is going to be until we do it.”
The songbird rocker Janelle Monáe debuts her brand new single, “Tight Rope” from her forthcoming full-length LP, The ArchAndroid, the second installment to the Metropolis saga.
The track, co-written by Monáe and produced by the Wondaland Arts Society, consisting of Nate “Rocket” Wonder and Chuck Lightning, features OutKast member and longtime friend, Big Boi. The single will be available on February 12th, officially via her website, JanelleMonae.com, in addition to another track, titled “Cold War.”
Monica finally reveals the album cover for her hotly anticipated sixth studio album, Still Standing.
The new album is led by the Missy Elliott-produced, “Everything To Me,” which samples from Deniece Williams’ classic, “Silly.” Above is the full version of the single, completed with bridge. Monica also shot the video this week in Los Angeles.
The album is set to hit stores March 23rd via J. Records.
Ludacris teams up with the quickly advancing newcomer, Young Money signee Nicki Minaj for the track, “My Chick’s Bad.”
The new track, produced by The Legendary Traxster, is supposedly from Ludacris’s upcoming seventh project, Battle of the Sexes, which was originally supposed to be duo album with him and previous Disturbing Tha Peace signee, Shawnna. But it seems as though the direction of the project has changed after her departure from the label.
Battle of the Sexes, now led by the single, “How Low,” will now be a collaboration album with a flurry of cameos, including Ne-Yo, Trina, Monica, Flo-Rida, Ciara, Pharrell Williams, Trey Songz and Trina, to name a few.
Ludacris’s new album is scheduled to drop on March 9th.
