♫ Pussycat Dolls feat. Darkchild, Diddy, Lil’ Wayne & Fatman Scoop - When I Grow Up (Remix) (full) - listen
Lil’ Wayne is on everything! But that’s besides the point. This remix goes hard! Even though the Pussycat Dolls are hardly on the track, I am definitely digging the remix, produced by Darkchild and featuring a host of other cameos! It just seems like it would be a cool, radio-friendly track. I hear a bit of an MJ sample in the track as well. Love everyone’s delivery on this track.
♫ Usher - His Mistakes (full) - listen
Hmmm. Usher is gearing up to release “His Mistakes” for his third single from his latest LP, Here I Stand. Even though I like “His Mistakes” as an album cut, I’m not sure if I’m really all smiles about it being released as a single. “Love In This Club” was very misleading, as far as the rest of the content on the album. I really think that the label is trading low by releasing this as a single.

♫ Ciara feat. Ludacris - High Price (full) - listen
Check out the real full version of Ciara’s “High Price.” It’s something about this song: I hate it, I love it, it confuses me, I get it. I just can’t get into some of the lyrics. Did she actually say that her hair looks softer than McDonald’s hamburger buns? I love the chorus, it’s so catchy, but I just can’t seem to allow myself to love it. I’m hoping that this isn’t the first single from the album, and I’m thinking that it won’t be. We’ll see, CiCi.
♫ Lloyd feat. Plies - Year of the Lover (full) - listen
I prefer the version without Plies, but whatever. I don’t think he does much for the song. I think it’s because when I think about Plies, I don’t think “lover” - I think it has something to do with how, uhm, vulgar he is? I think that it’ll bring some more attention to the song, however, which is slated to be Lloyd’s third single from his upcoming album, Lessons In Love, due out August 5th.

Check out the official second single from Ne-Yo, “Miss Independent,” from his third album, Year of the Gentleman. The new album is set to hit stores August 5th, after a couple of push-backs. I thought that the first single, “Closer” would have been a lot bigger over in the United States than it was, especially with the video getting so much play.
Perhaps “Miss Independent,” despite its mediocrity to the first single, will give the album the push it needs. Hopefully, Ne-Yo has some stronger material to release from the album, because if “Miss Independent” is all we had to look forward to, I’m losing interest.
Check out Ne-Yo on MySpace and make sure you pick up a copy of Year of the Gentleman on August 5th.

♫ T.I. - Whatever You Like (full) - listen
Even though folks have been going up for T.I.’s new song, “No Matter What,” and they’re loving the video, it seems as though “Whatever You Like” is T.I.’s official first single. I don’t think it’s as strong as it could but, but it’s catchy and I think the ladies will like it. It’s not what I was expecting from an album that’s titled Paper Trail. I honestly like the intensity of “No Matter What” better. Hmmm.
♫ Drake feat. Lil’ Wayne - Brand New (Remix) (full) - listen
I remember posting this a little while ago, but here is a new remix of “Brand New” with Lil’ Wayne. I actually love this version of it. Most are used to hearing Drake rap, but he definitely can sing as well. I’ve spoken to him recently, and he has been hard at work at his debut album, Thank Me Later. I think that “Brand New” should definitely be kept in the mix of his album. I’ve been waiting on Drake for a minute.

♫ Lloyd - Year of the Lover (full) - listen
I have really been digging Lloyd’s delivery and swagger as of lately. Lessons In Love is shaping up to be a pretty solid third release for the R&B crooner. “Year of the Lover” is supposed to be the third single, while he promotes the album for an August 5th release. From what I’ve heard, a rapper will be added to “Year of the Lover” for when it’s released as a single.
♫ Teairra Mari - Finding My Way Back (full) - listen
We just reported that Teairra Mari inked a new deal with Interscope Records, and she’s already dropped her first single, “No No No” on us. A couple of tracks have leaked here and there, but here is “Finding My Way Back.” I don’t know, this is really the first bit of material that I’ve really been digging. I was a fan of the music that Teairra released on

Seems as though Sterling Simm’s new single, featuring The Dream (with Jadakiss on the remix), was previously recorded by friend and follow R&B-crooner, Lloyd recorded the same song. To me, it sounds like Lloyd recorded the track by himself for his new album, Lesson In Love, which hits stores August 5th. But in order to drive buzz for Sterling, they put Dream on the rap to cause some more commotion around the project.
In any event, I must say, I appreciate Lloyd’s version more, vocally. He rides the track better to me. But you know we’ve gotta hear it from you guys too!

♫ Nelly feat. Usher - Long Night (full) - listen
With Usher’s album doing the electric slide down the charts (no, I’m kidding), I’m glad he’s getting himself out there and getting on some tracks. What I’m really glad to see is that Usher’s brother, James Lackey, who has a publishing deal with EMI, is still getting placements since Lloyd’s “Get It, Shawty!” I actually dig this song, and I think it could have been an interesting addition to Usher’s album, without Nelly, of course. Honestly, Nelly is my least favorite part of the song.
♫ Raven-Symoné - Love Me or Leave Me (full) - listen
Check out Raven’s new single, “Love Me or Leave Me,” from her latest album. I actually gave Raven’s album, and it really wasn’t the Disney-inspired album that I thought it would be. Raven really did her thing on this new project. And even though I can’t say that it was something that I would listen to a constant basis, I definitely respect what she did. “Love Me or Leave Me” is produced by Oak of the Knightwritaz. It’s a pretty cool song.
