Jordin Sparks - S.O.S. (Let the Music Play) (full) - listen
Jordin Sparks is gearing up to release her sophomore studio album, Battlefield this month, and material other than the lead single of the same title has begun to leak. I’m actually really digging all the music the music that I’ve heard from Jordin. This time around, she is going for a sound that she calls “more Beyonce meets Rihanna.” And I can definitely hear the influence. Jordin’s got a big voice, and she’s found a way to find a happy medium with it over this pop tracks.

R. Kelly - Hatin’ On Him (full) - listen
R. Kelly is working diligently on his Untitled album, which is set for release for sometime this year. There’s no official single released as of yet, but you can expect a flurry of unreleased material and remixes to leak in the future. “Hatin’ On Him” is of the latest material to hit the internet. It’s not any different from anything else we’ve heard, and nothing really stand-out or stellar about the track. So we’ll see.

Tiffany Evans - Spotlight (full) - listen
Check out this new track from Tiffany Evans, produced by none other than Brian Kennedy. “Spotlight” is interesting for Tiffany, it finds her exploring the realm of the Euro-pop sound. I like this effort from her because it shows that her voice can’t be pigeon-holed into one genre. Many think that all Tiffany can do is belt with those church-trained pipes, but this shows that her voice has a versatile pop side. No word on the release date of her new album, Ponytail Krush, but it’s good to hear some new material.

Mario feat. Brandy - Boom In It (full) - listen
Mario is working on his new album and a few songs have leaked. Of my favorites is this new track, “Boom In It,” with one of my favorite female vocalists, Brandy. It’s really interesting to hear Brandy on all of these duets, because I love seeing how well her tone matches with so many different sounds. I’m a little worried about Mario’s album, because I really thought that he wasn’t working with a whole lot of producers this time around. And it seems with all the material that’s leaked, there really hasn’t been a consistent sound that he’s going with.

Brandy & Ne-Yo - Too Little Too Late (full) - listen
Brandy is already working on her sixth studio album, and it seems as though tracks and demos for the R&B sensation haven’t been on lock! Brandy and Ne-Yo material is leaking left and right. I love Brandy’s vocal arrangements and delivery - her voice runs like water to me, but for some reason, I am just not fond of hearing Ne-Yo with her. He doesn’t match her intensity at all to me, but the song isn’t half bad.

Mya feat. Bun B. - Show Me Something (full) - listen
Is Mya working on a new album? I haven’t heard much from her since she had to resign from taking the stage for the remounting of Chicago, and her last album, Sugar & Spice was only released overseas. Apparently, she’s gearing up to release in the United States market again later this year on her own independent label called Planet 9. Interesting.

Sammie - Jam On Me (full) - listen
Check out this new track from Sammie, produced by Street Love. It sounds a little Polow Da Don-ish to me, but nonetheless, there’s nothing wrong with the track. The new track is from the session for his forthcoming album, Coming of Age, which is supposed to hit stores and online in the fourth music quarter of this year. I really thought that “Kiss Me Thru the Phone” with Souljaboy would push more focus on him, but they’ve failed to give him a single that has garnered a good bit of attention.

Joe - Miss My Baby (full) - listen
For those of you who didn’t know, R&B crooner Joe is releasing his 8th studio album (not including his greatest hits record that hit stores last year) on July 7th. The latest of the material to leak is the live horns-tinged “Miss My Baby.” I really dig the sound, as well as Joe’s vocal delivery. I really respect the fact that Joe has managed to put out albums since 1993. I can dig it.

Toni Braxton - Pulse (full) - listen
I’m super excited about the new Toni Braxton project that has been being talked about for months now, so any time some form of new material or news surfaces, I’m on it. The new track, “Pulse” was produced by The Underdogs, who Toni seems to have been working with a lot on this new album. Last October, Braxton inked a deal with Atlantic Records, so an album is definitely in the works. This ballad is exactly the type of material I wanna hear from Ms. Braxton.

Cassie - Up In Here (full) - listen
This track was tagged as Cassie, but I’m not completely sold. It does sound like her, but it doesn’t. The track was produced by Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins and was penned by the duo known as Rock City (notice their chant at the beginning). If this is Cassie, it’s definitely a track from her forthcoming sophomore album, ElectroLove, which is due out this fall.

Mary J. Blige feat. Drake - The One (full) - listen
The final version of “The One” soon leaked after the scratch version of it was released. Apparently, this is the new single that people were gonna get this summer for Mary’s upcoming new album. Mary tapped newcomer Drake for a feature, which probably wasn’t a bad idea considering all the hype around the young MC. Although this wasn’t really the direction I was expecting from Mary, I’m not mad at her. She’s managed to be one of the few who has remained relevant over the years.

Mario feat. Ludacris - Spectacular (full) - listen
Dope new track from Mario, produced by Jim Jonsin. I honestly am really digging this track, which I’m hoping will appear on Mario’s new album, which is titled And Then There Was Me. Mario stated in previous interviews that he was working with no more than 4 producers, for a more cohesive sound on this album, so I hope he’s sticking to his guns. Jim Jonsin does great work, so this could be interesting. I also dig the intensity Ludacris brought with his feature.

Cassie FT. Diddy, Busta, Day26 & Red Cafe - Must Be Love (Remix) (full) - listen
The official remix for Cassie’s buzz single, “Must Be Love” has hit. And of course, Bad Boy pulls everyone in. Busta Rhymes leads the song off. Add a few more artist and throw Puffy on the adlibs, you can definitely tell that Diddy is trying to bring back that original ’90’s Bad Boy Entertainment flavor. I still really dig the Mario Winans-produced track. The video is supposed to hit soon. I’m interested to see what it is.

Lil’ Wayne - Kobe Bryant (full) - listen
Lil’ Wayne pays homage to LA Lakers’ player, Kobe Bryant on this new track, that Wayne probably just recorded in the booth after watching a game. On the track, Wayne describes Kobe as the “greatest on the court,” while he is the “greatest on the verse.” I ain’t mad at it.
