Check out this new jam from Rick Ross and John Legend entitled, “Magnificent.” I’m definitely feeling this one. This is the lead single from his highly anticipated new album, “Deeper Than Rap,” which is slated to be released sometime this year. Keep doing it Boss!
John Legend will be performing during the Superbowl PreGame performances and is currently on tour promoting his latest album, Revolver.
Check out Ginuwine’s new song, “Last Chance”. His new album, “A Mans Thoughts,” is set to be released this Spring.
“Last Chance” was written by Adonis and produced by Bryan Micheal Cox. As we mentioned earlier this month, Timbaland will be a big part of the album as well.
Check out brand new music from Chrisette Michele. The new song is called “Epiphany” and will serve as a the first single from her currently untitled second album. Although much information isn’t known about the project, it’s supposed to drop on March 31st, and sources close to the singer have said that she’s worked with Ne-Yo and created some sounds a lot different from the ones that were on her debut, 2007’s I Am, which was certified gold and earned her a Grammy nomination.
I’m interested to see what Chrisette comes up with, she has a very unique and distinctive voice. I think with the right producers, she could really showcase her pipes in a really nice light.
Electrik Red is on their third single, “So Good,” from their debut album, How to Be a Lady: Volume 1, which is entirely produced by Tricky Stewart and The Dream. The Def Jam girl group didn’t have much luck with their first single, “Drink In My Cup,” which has remained slightly under the radar and have barely given any promotion (not even iTunes) to their second single, “Friend Lover,” which they’ve actually shot a video for.
The new single, “So Good” is like a mash-up between Prince’s girl group, Vanity 6 and Rick James’s Mary Jane Girls. Seems like all of the songs that have a leaked from the girls’ album sounds like something that The Dream could have recorded from his first album, Love/Hate. Maybe “So Good” will get a little more media attention than the other singles have.
Lil’ Wayne makes more and more steps towards becoming a more crossover artist. Although he’s done a pretty good job of doing that with his last album, Tha Carter III, Wayne goes for a more edgy, rock feel on his new single, “Prom Queen”. He garnered his first #1 single with the sing-songy “Lollipop,” and hey, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.
With all the Inaugural updates continued today, we decided to post up the latest “My President Is Black” remix. Jay-Z and Nas teamed up with Young Jeezy for the new remix, which Jay-Z performed during one of the Inaugural events in DC over the weekend. Since then, the radio hasn’t been able to get enough of spinning the record.
Make sure you keep it locked on CL for all the updates and photos from this historic week! And congrats to our 44th President, Barack Obama!
Atlanta native and songstress Nivea seems to have a new song floating around the internet! I’m not sure if Nivea is working on a new project or not, considering that her last album, Animalistic wasn’t released in the United States. I’m a little iffy about the song. I feel like it’s a good track, but I don’t know if this is what Nivea wants to release to make a splash back onto the scene, since U.S. release, Complicated.
