Usher and Chris Brown were among the performers at the 2012 Billboard Music Awards, held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on Sunday (May 20) in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The airing also featured a special Whitney Houston tribute by singer-songwriter John Legend and singer-actress Jordin Sparks. Whitney’s teenage daughter Bobbi Kristina and sister-in-law Pat Houston took the stage to accept the Millennium Award in behalf of the late and great superstar. Earlier this month, Jill Scott recorded her episode of ‘VH1 Storytellers’ in front of a live audience at the Manhattan Center Grand Ballroom in New York City. She put on a show by getting into character (as seen above) and showing off different sides to herself and music.
The singer performed some of her fan faves like “Golden,” “Crown Royal” and “Come See Me.” Shortly after, select people were invited for an after party celebration at the Ink 48 hotel with appearances from Janelle Monae, former American Idol contestant Michael Lynche, Bravo TV’s Chef Ruble and Concrete Loop’s own Angel Laws.
