Police have confirmed Hudson’s mother, Darnell Hudson Donerson, is one of the deceased. The other victim has been identified as Jennifer Hudson’s brother Jason Hudson.
A search is under way for a young boy who is missing from the home. A child, possibly Jennifer Hudson’s 7-year-old nephew, Julian King, is missing, according to sources. Al Sharpton and seven other activists were convicted of disorderly conduct during protests over the police killing of Sean Bell on his wedding day.
The judge sentenced Sharpton to time served, who had already served 5 and a half hours in jail.
Two hundred people were arrested in May for blocking bridges, tunnels and intersections in response to the acquittal of three detectives in the 50-bullet shooting of Bell.
Most of the cases had been dismissed, but Sharpton and his co-defendants insisted upon a trial. While testifying, Sharpton said, “We wanted to stop violence, not cause violence.”
EMMETT TILL LAW
The Emmett Till Unsolved Civil Rights Crime Act has been signed into law and will allow the Justice Department to investigate and prosecute Civil Rights-era crimes.
The bill is named after Emmett Till, a black teenager who was mutilated and murdered for allegedly whistling at a white woman in Mississippi in 1955. The case remains unsolved and his death helped propel the modern Civil Rights Movement.
The unprecedented bill authorizes the attorney general to spend $10 million annually over 10 years to investigate and prosecute cold cases from the Civil Rights-era.

Sens. Barack Obama and John McCain are ready to face off again in their second presidential debate, Tuesday night at Belmont University in Nashville, TN.
In a Town Hall, all questions will come from the audience or the internet, not the moderator, Tom Brokaw. Each candidate will have two minutes to respond to each question, and following those initial responses, the moderator will invite the candidates to respond to the previous answers, for one minute, ensuring that both candidates receive an equal amount of time to comment.
The debate begins at 9pm ET, and will broadcast on major networks ABC, CBS, FOX and NBC, in addition to cable news channels such as C-SPAN, CNN, Fox News and MSNBC.

O.J. Simpson is taken into custody after being found guilty during his trial at the Clark County Regional Justice Center on Friday, October 3, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Simpson and co-defendant Clarence ‘C.J.’ Stewart were found guilty on all charges after standing trial for crimes including felony kidnapping, armed robbery and conspiracy related to a 2007 confrontation with sports memorabilia dealers in a Las Vegas hotel.
The verdict comes 13 years to the day after Simpson was acquitted of murdering his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman.
