In a bid for a ratings jump, the new season of Survivor is taking the popular ‘controversial’ route. According to
CBS NEWS, the tribes will now be divided among race; African-American, Asian-American, Hispanic & White.
CBS asked host Jeff Probst how the players felt when they heard the news:
How did the new players react when they were told they would be divided by race?
Jeff: “The reaction was mixed. (Contestant) Yuhl wasn’t sure. Yuhl was concerned we were going to turn this into something that would show stereotypes and reinforce them,” Probst said. “On the other hand, you have people like Rebecca, who said, ‘I don’t really care how you divide it because I know that I need a certain amount of people to be on my side to help me get through this.’ Ultimately, to win this game, you’re voting people out that are then on the jury that have to come back and vote for you. So, the person who wins is actually going to do the best job of merging with all different ethnicities.” [SOURCE]
If you click here then scroll down, you can view the new contestants and their ages. And as you can see, the white tribe has the youngest players. hmmmm
I’m really interested in how this is going to pan out; you know there is going to be some drama.

TONI’S BAD REVIEW!
Nevada hotel tycoon Don Marrandino has jumped to the defense of his headliner, Toni Braxton, after a negative response to her first week performing at the Flamingo in Las Vegas. Braxton’s show has failed to impress critics. The Las Vegas Review Journal’s Mike Weatherford writes,
“The debut was nothing short of a train wreck. Viewers complained the song lyrics were inaudible and the singer failed to project her likable personality onto the rigidly choreographed affair.” [SOURCE]
Well, we all saw the BET Awards last year, not to mention, that crazy-ass performance she did on American Idol. I’m a Toni fan, but she needs to learn how to sing INTO the mic, we don’t want to hear no secrets!
MICHAEL KNIGHT WINS AGAIN!!
I’m sure all the Project Runyway Fans already know about this, but you know I had to post something on it.
Our boy Michael Knight won yet another challenge on last night’s Project Runway. And if you can’t tell, that outfit was made purely out of recyclable materials.
Go head Michael, I’m rooting for you.

Diddy was stunned when he realized a new song featuring
Jadakiss and
Fat Joe is sung by socialite
Paris Hilton. Diddy admitted to MTV that he wouldn’t normally listen to a Hilton track but was pleasantly surprised by her new record,
Fighting Over Me.
“I thought, this is one of the hottest tracks of the year, then I looked at the credits and it was Paris Hilton.” [SOURCE]
First those Cassie comments, now this! Diddy gotta be on that stuff!

In the new MTV News special “All Eyes on Justin Timberlake,” the former N’Sync star wouldn’t say whether or not the boob flash was intentional, or indeed a “wardrobe malfunction” as described in a statement eventually released by Jackson. But Timberlake said he laments staying silent during the media torrent surrounding ‘Nipplegate’.
“I’m part of a community that considers themselves artists. And if there was something [more] I could’ve done in her defense, then I would have,” said Timberlake. “But the other half of me thought to myself, ‘Wow, like we still haven’t found the weapons of mass destruction. And everybody cares about this.’”
Timberlake also acknowledged the sexist and racial undertones surrounding the Super Bowl incident, suggesting the media focused more on Janet Jackson than on him.
“If you consider it 50/50, I probably got 10 percent of the blame. And that says something about society,” he said. “I think that America’s harsher on women and I think that America’s unfairly harsh on ethnic people. At the time it was happening, it was so crazy to me, that I didn’t handle it the best way I could have. But, you get your bumps and bruises from it and you learn. But it was sorta unfair.” [SOURCE]

Diddy sat down and
MTV today to speak about all that drama that has been going on with Next Selection/Bad Boy recording artist, Cassie. He basically said a bunch of PR bull-shit, talking about what she did was “cute” and he smiled at the 106 performance. I smiled too Diddy, naw, I laughed at that horrible performance. Check his quote:
“She had her first television performance, and she had an all right performance,” he said. “You could hear the nervousness in her voice. And to be honest, I kind of smiled at it, because it made me really appreciate what I really love about her: She’s a regular person. And we, as artists, we sometimes get nervous. I told her it’s like riding a bike: You’re gonna fall down, you got to keep on getting on it. I’m with her through her development, and I have no questioning on her ability, on her singing ability. It just made me appreciate that she got nervous, and it was kind of cute to me, to be honest.
It takes time when you’re developing a new artist,” he continued. “You can’t be fickle. Some people are going to have good days and bad days. The thing about Bad Boy is, we’re with our artists through all days. She’s not an artist that has a problem with her vocals or singing. You’ve got to understand that success for her is coming out of nowhere. It’s just so huge, and sometimes everybody handles it differently. So I’m quite sure she’ll get over it. She’s going to have to. That’s part of being a recording artist, and sometimes it takes time. I don’t care how many performances it is, I’m going to be with her until she gets it right.” [SOURCE]
Danity Kane better watch out, Cassie has a better chance than yall on Bad Boy and she can’t even sing! Now if that isn’t ridiculous, I don’t know what is.
In related news, Cassie’s album debuted at #4 on the Billboard Charts….
