Just when you thought the buzz around the Houston family had died down, it starts back up again. According to reports, Bobbi Kristina, Pat and Gary Houston and Whitney’s mother Cissy have just signed up for docu-reality series about their lives, following the passing of the iconic singer, Whitney Houston:
Three months after Whitney Houston’s sudden death, her family has signed on to do a reality series. Lifetime has picked up The Houston Family Chronicles, a 10-episode docu-series to premiere later this year. It will follow the lives of Pat Houston, Whitney’s sister-in-law and manager, who now manages her estate; Pat’s daughter Rayah; Whitney’s brother Gary; daughter Bobbi Kristina; and mother, Grammy-winning singer Cissy Houston, as they try to pick up the pieces after the pop star’s untimely death. Apparently Pat Houston has had the idea of an unscripted show based on the family for a few years now and had been working on developing it. According to her, “the unexpected passing of Whitney certainly affects the direction of the show. However, it is my hope that others will be enlightened as they watch our family heal and move forward.”Continue

Jada Pinkett-Smith revealed the full episode of her new Mother’s Day web series special, ‘Red Table Talks.’ In the premiere episode, Smith invites fans and onlookers into an open conversation between herself, her daughter, Willow and mother, Adrienne Banefield-Jones, in hopes of encouraging families to strengthen their lines of communication between each other.
The clip starts off with Jada explaining why she chose a red table as the symbol/theme of their conversation and why she believes in the importance of communication. Adrienne kicked off the conversation by asking Jada if she holds any resentment toward her about how she was was raised. Before Jada answered, Adrienne explained to Willow the reasoning behind her question:
“Jada did not have the kind of life that you have now. And I was not a good mother in my eyes. And I know that your Mom believes that all experiences good and bad help make you the person that you are today. But I just feel like during those times, the bad times outweighed the good. I have been clean for 22 years and I went into therapy [...] But I felt like there were things that needed to be said that she needed to get off her chest. I have been so caught up in my own guilt for years.”
Jada went on to say that although her mother allowed her to do whatever she wanted when she was younger, she never saw her childhood as bad and reminded her mother of how she allowed her to be herself and allowed her to follow her dreams. Willow was next up to ask Jada how hard it is to be a wife and a mother: Continue
