NEWS: “GODFATHER OF GO-GO” CHUCK BROWN HAS DIED AT 75

Chuck Brown, the legendary musician also known as “The Godfather of Go-Go”, died Wednesday following a bout of pneumonia. He was 75.

Brown is often cited as the founding force behind the funky sub-genre and credited with the creation of go-go, which originated in Washington, D.C., during the 1960s and 1970s blending funk, R&B and early hip-hop. One of his earliest hits, “Bustin’ Loose”, is perhaps Brown’s most well-known creation taken from his third album, also titled Bustin’ Loose, which was released in 1979.

A seasoned performer, Brown continued making music and performing until his health wouldn’t allow, having earned his first Grammy Award nomination in 2010 for Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals for “Love” with Jill Scott and Marcus Miller, thirty-eight years after the release of his debut album.

TWITTER LOOP/POLL: TIA MOWRY WON’T BE BACK ON ‘THE GAME’ + POOCH HALL NOT RETURNING EITHER?

Looks like ‘The Game’ just lost two of their starting players. Ok that was hella corny, but you know what I mean. LOL. Actress Tia Mowry-Hardrict confirmed the rumors of her not returning for Season 6 of BET’s hit show ‘The Game’ via twitter. Check out what she had to say below.

According to Hip Hollywood, actor Pooch Hall won’t be returning either! We stalked his twitter page earlier and last he said it was still being worked out, but that was almost two weeks ago. He also said he will be co-starring in a new series on the Showtime Network.

Seeing that both are key players in the story line and appeal of the show, not sure how the writers are going to fix this one. And to be honest, I stopped watching the series months ago and didn’t even know the already had their season finale. I guess both Tia and Pooch saw a sinking ship and jumped off. What’s your take? TV BIT: PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA SITS DOWN W/ ‘THE VIEW’

President Barack Obama chatted with the ladies of The View on Tuesday, discussing his recent announcement supporting same-sex marriage, the upcoming presidential election, his continued quest for economic equality in regard to taxation and more, telling the ladies: “Everyone on this couch will probably pay a little more so the middle class doesn’t have to.”

During his fourth appearance on the couch, the President also, of course, touched on his family commenting on how First Lady Michelle Obama grounds him yet teases him “mercilessly” and how much fun he’s having as a volunteer basketball coach to their youngest daughter Sasha’s team, the Vipers.

While acknowledging that this year’s election will be a tight one because “the country has gone through a very difficult time”, the President also asserted, “Oh, I’m going to win.” A recent USA Today/Gallup poll agrees: 56 percent of Americans think President Obama will be re-elected, compared to 36 percent for Republican presumptive nominee Mitt Romney.
