The 2009 Oscar Nomination announcements were held in Beverly Hills, California on Thursday morning and as expected some of the Gloden Globe front runners were among the nominees.
Actresses Taraji P. Henson (’The Curious Case of Benjamin Button’) and Viola Davis (’Doubt’) are both up for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role. Congrats to both ladies..
DOCUMENTARY ‘TROUBLE THE WATER’ UP FOR OSCAR
Also in the running for an Academy Award is the excellent documentary, ‘Trouble The Water,’ up for best Documentary feature.
The film literally takes you inside Hurricane Katrina, in a way it’s seldom been seen – through the eyes of two true survivors, Kim and Scott Roberts. It was executive Produced by Danny Glover.

Last night at 7:35, Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr. administered the oath of office to President Barack Obama a second time in the Map Room of the White House. Roberts began by asking Obama whether he was ready. “I am, and we’re going to do it very slowly,” Obama replied.
The do-over was to dispel any confusion after Tuesday’s oath and erase any doubt that Obama is legally president, although Obama became president at noon Tuesday without taking the oath as stated in the Constitution.

After Tuesday’s historic events, U.S. President Barack Obama gets to work in the Oval Office on Wednesday morning in Washington, DC.
President Obama (joined by Vice President Biden) signed his first five executive orders on Wednesday. Obama’s orders dealt with a freeze on some government salaries, a ban on lobbying his administration after leaving, and loosening of the way the federal government interprets the Freedom of Information Act.

With all the Inaugural updates continued today, we decided to post up the latest “My President Is Black” remix. Jay-Z and Nas teamed up with Young Jeezy for the new remix, which Jay-Z performed during one of the Inaugural events in DC over the weekend. Since then, the radio hasn’t been able to get enough of spinning the record.
