Singers Monica and Maxwell pose for a photo backstage during the BET Networks’ 2009 Upfront media presentation, where they announced 4 brand new shows in addition to a new entertainment and music channel called CENTRIC.
The presentation, held at the Nokia Theatre on New York Thursday night, featured special appearances by Mary J. Blige, Chilli, MC Lyte and more.
Monica will be starring in her own reality show on the network, entitled, ‘Monica: Still Standing’ and told me it is set to air sometime in October. According to several announcements, Mo’Nique will have her own nightly talk/variety show. More pics below…

First Lady Michelle Obama gestures as she allows two more questions from children during the Take Your Child to Work Day event in the East Room of the White House on Thursday. She hosted the children of Executive Office employees and answered questions from the audience. The most popular topic of discussion? Bo, the First Dog.
When asked what does he like to do, the First Lady explained:
“Oh, he is a crazy dog. He — you know, he loves to chew on people’s feet. I’ll tell you a story about Bo last night. It was like 10:00 p.m. at night, everybody was asleep, and we hear all this barking and jumping around, and the President and I came out and we thought somebody was out there. And it was just Bo. He was playing with his ball. And it was like there was another person in the house. He’s kind of crazy. But he’s still a puppy, so he likes to play a lot.”
She added that free time for her “doesn’t happen often” since she’s “doing a lot of dog walking and dog training”.

Growing up as a military brat in Hawai’i was a life-altering experience for me, so Kanye West’s new video for the song “Amazing,” (featuring Young Jeezy) reminds me of how beautiful the 808 state still is.
The star premiered “Amazing” on 106th & Park on Thursday and it features aerial and landscape shots of the Oahu island. Oh yeah, the talented Hype Williams directed it.

German singer Ayọ was spotted on the streets of Paris on Thursday afternoon.
Ayọ is popular abroad and her debut album, Joyful, which was first released in 2006, reached Double-Platinum status in France. Her music was released in the U.S. back in ‘07 but she didn’t receive as much success.

Rapper Nas was spotted court side at the Miami Heat and Atlanta Hawks playoff (game 2) at Philips Arena on Wednesday in Atlanta, Georgia.
Rapper Young Jeezy was also courtside enjoying the game and is pictured sitting next to Nas (photos below).
Nas is currently collaborating on a new album with reggae star Damian Marley and is also expecting his first child with his wife Kelis, later on this year. Can I add that Kelis is a lucky woman, because Nas is looking good in these photos.
