I know some ladies made New Years Resolutions to save a few dollars and here’s a great start for your 2009 shopping list. Compare these runway inspired items to the real designer duds and make your choice for a deal or the designer…
First up is this popular Balenciaga Fall 2008 off-shoulder dress, which retails over $1000 - Bebe has a very similar copy for much less and in more color options.
2008’s “It” couple, Rihanna and Chris Brown teamed with Polow Da Don for this new song, “Bad Girl,” which definitely doesn’t seem to fall into the bracket of material that Rihanna described for her new album. In recent interviews, Rihanna said that she was going for a edgier rock sound (think “Disturbia”) for the fourth studio, but we’ll see.
Rihanna is actually re-re-releasing Good Girl Gone Bad, but it will be a remixes version. Maybe we’re jumping the gun, because it’s been reported that this isn’t even the finished product of this song, but I’m hoping that this isn’t what Rihanna is serving up for the new album.
Ciara releases her “first” single from her new album, Fantasy Ride. The new single is produced by Polow Da Don and features Young Jeezy. Even though “Go Girl” wasn’t that great of a choice for a single, “Never Again” definitely isn’t leaps and bounds above that. I appreciate the sample, but I was expecting something great, considering that Polow did produce her hugely popular first single from her last album, “Promise.”
I don’t know, I’m a little iffy about Ciara’s project. There have been a few songs that I’ve really dug (”Echo” and “I’m On”), but the thing about it is, so much material has leaked, I’m just not sure what the album is going to consist of. We’ll see. Hopefully, we’ll have a new release date for Fantasy Ride as well.
Guess who was spotted at last night’s Knicks game with his grandma. Hint: This funny man discovered earlier this year he descended from the Udeme people of northern Cameroon and that he is 20% Caucasian.
A coroner’s report released on Friday reveals that Dr. Dre’s son, Andre Young Jr. died from an overdose of heroin and morphine on August 23. He was 20. The coroner ruled his death as accidental and says the case is closed.
According to reports, Young returned home from hanging out with friends that night and his mother, Jenita Porter, recalled hearing him snoring around 5:30 a.m.
When she checked on him in his room around 10 a.m., she found him unresponsive and called 911. Paramedics pronounced him dead at their Woodland Hills, California home.

“We need an American Recovery and Reinvestment Plan that not only creates jobs in the short-term but spurs economic growth and competitiveness in the long-term,” he says. “And this plan must be designed in a new way—we can’t just fall into the old Washington habit of throwing money at the problem. Usher and wife Tameka Foster share laughs and drinks at Usher’s New Year’s Eve party on Wednesday. The couple traveled to Las Vegas this week to ring in the New Year at The Bank Nightclub at Bellagio.
The two had a lot to celebrate after just recently welcoming their second child in early December of 2008, Naviyd Ely Raymond.
