Singer Monica will be among 4 singers to join the new NBC voice competition The Voice.
In the weeks to come the 30 year-old will be along side Cee-Lo Green as they mentor and advise the talent, by “offering words of wisdom and helping to choose songs that best suit each singer’s vocal style.” The other three artists joining the judges are country singer Reba McEntire, singer/songwriter Sia and music director Adam Blackstone.

Nicki Minaj will be performing on Tuesdays airing of the ABC dance competition Dancing With The Stars. The 26 year-old singer/rapper will be performing on the show’s elimination episode. According to Rap-up.com, Nicki is scheduled to perform “Moment 4 Life,” but there’s no word on whether Drake will be joining her during her performance.

Well not exactly. Executive producer Simon Cowell has confirmed that Mariah Carey will officially be a part of the singing competition’s judging panel. The former American Idol judge shared that the mother-to-be will be participating in the live X-Factor shows some way or another:
“I think Mariah will have a role on the TV live shows,” Cowell confirmed to host Jackie Brown. “I met her recently and she was on great form. And her idea was to be the judge of the judges, which only Mariah could come up with. She’ll be involved in some form. I literally adore her. I love her to bits.” [Source]

Dancer/choreographer Laurieann Gibson is taking her boomkack dancing shoes and second TV show to another network. Although she just premiered her current reality TV show, Dance Scene the creative director is working on a new show – Born To Dance, a reality dance competition show that is set to debut on BET on August 2, 2011. The show follows the experience of 10 passionate and aspiring dancers as they work towards being a part of Gibson’s dance team. In an interview with Billboard.com, the Toronto-native had a bit to say about the meaning of her upcoming show:
“It’s a survival story of youth and how much they need real art,” Gibson says. “There’s real hope and inspiration there. We’re very conscious about not saying, ‘You’re fired.’ There’s so much rejection in the dance world. My show isn’t about winning a trophy and then being let go. We’re trying to find the one girl who can be a part of my team.”
Gibson has choreographed Lady Gaga’s upcoming music video for her single, “Judas”, which is set to drop any day now…

Antonia “Toya” Johnson shows off her curves in a brown gown on Rolling Out Magazine’s weekly issue. The reality television personality and entrepreneur spoke a bit about motherhood, the wrong things women do in relationships, how reality TV has affected her life and more:
On what women are doing wrong in relationships:
“I just feel like women just go so hard. They give their all so fast. They give 100 [percent] and don’t get that in return. Relationships [are] supposed to be equal. A lot of women didn’t grow up with the affection from their dad. So, when they find a man, they expect that man to give that to them. … They look for love in all the wrong places. They never had their fathers around to say, ‘I love you, and you’re beautiful.’ So, the first man to tell them, ‘I love you, and you’re beautiful,’ they fall for it. That’s the biggest problem. They throw themselves on a man all the time and say, ‘I got him.’ That [doesn’t] work.”On the affects of reality TV on her life:
“It’s a gift and a curse, but a blessing. People feel like they really, really know you. So you get the weirdos who come up to you, ‘Oh, you looking for love? I can help you with that,’ and ‘Lil Wayne’s crazy’ and this and that. The plus side is you get to meet people who genuinely give you this love and open up to you … so it helps people.” [Read more]
