10. ALICIA & SWIZZ
Singer/songwriter Alicia Keys and her producer husband Swizz Beatz have been the topic of many convos for the past couple of years. The duo welcomed their first child together back in October of 2010. Alicia has a new album due out in 2012 and Swizz is in the lab making beats rocking his Reebok attire.
Not as glamorous and celeb friendly as the MET Gala, or as notorious as the CFDA Awards, the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Awards are probably the least familiar of the American fashion industry’s top award ceremonies.
About acknowledging and awarding emerging designers with long term potential, the night is more about the business end of fashion rather than the creative. But that doesn’t mean the star or style power was any less prominent.
A number of celebs were on hand to witness designer Joseph Altuzarra receive the night’s top award — $300,000.
Baller Carmelo Anthony and wife Lala, who was dressed in Zac Posen Pre-Fall 2011, were guests of designer Rachel Roy.
The designer wore an on trend fur vest, paired with a nude turtle-neck, and black floor length skirt.
Also accompanying a top fashion designer was actress Zoe Kravitz who attended with designer Alexander Wang, a past Fashion Fund award winner, and long time friend of Zoe.
Naturally, she wore a look from his Spring 2012 collection, a burgundy leather (it’s not just for the fellas) mini dress, paired with black pointy toe heels.
Other fashionably focused peeps who walked the event’s red carpet include models Joan Smalls in Altuzarra and Liya Kebede in Cushnie et Ochs, and designer Tracy Reese.
A sharply-dressed John Legend and his model girlfriend, Christine Teigen walked the red carpet at the GQ Men of the Year 2011 event at The Royal Opera House in London, England.
Legend is currently wrapping up the US leg of Sade’s international tour. Their next stop will be Louisville, Kentucky at the KFC Yum! Center on Friday, September 9th, with Greensboro, North Carolina on Saturday night. Cute couple!
With her husband, Carmelo Anthony suddenly joining the New York Knicks, television personality LaLa Vazquez and her family’s life has taken some adjusting to. The television personality and her family are heading back to reality TV for another round of LaLa’s Full Court Life.
