Cassie went on a promo run this week in promotion of her new single, “King of Hearts” (VIEW VIDEO). The 25 year-old was pictured on 106 & Park, FUSE TV and lastly at the The Blonds Fall 2012 fashion show. Check out her interview on BET below and check out some of her looks below. It’s been a while since we’ve heard anything official from Bad Boy signee Cassie, but she chooses Valentine’s Day to drop her official first single, “King of Hearts.” She dropped a snippet and a trailer late last year, but she’s hoping that her sophomore album, which she’s been working on since 2008 will drop sometime this spring.
In addition to dropping the song, she’s dropping the video for the clip below, directed by Christopher Sims. Expect Cassie’s album out this summer.
Singer Solange, Cassie, JoJo and VV Brown are a few of today’s singers that have been selected as the ‘New Wave of Pop Stars’ in the latest music issue of V Magazine. In the Pop Rocks article, each artist shared a bit about their upcoming albums and what they plan on bringing to the pop music table in 2012:
SOLANGE ON THE PROGRESSIVE SOUND OF HER UPCOMING ALBUM:
“It’s the kind of record you put on when your man is coming over, when you’re with your girls. There are songs that make you wanna dance because we were kind of partying our way through the record, but it’s very chill. [...] My references for the record were all Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, not just their typical Janet and Prince stuff, but SOS Band and their b-sides with Chaka Khan. At first the songs were really dark because I had a premonition before the record that I was going to die. I was having panic attacks and wiling out.” Continue
After releasing a trailer to her video for her upcoming single, “King of Hearts,”Cassie is eagerly gearing up to release her often delayed sophomore album, no longer entitled ElectroLove. And as usual, more tracks are leaking from sessions.
Starting the recording process back in 2008, Cassie has been the victim of several tracks leaking, however on a recent episode of BET’s 106 & Park, Diddy explained the Bad Boy is currently rebuilding, and Cassie is next up on the roster to release her album at the top of next year.
