D. Woods, formerly of Danity Kane fame is still in the studio working on new material for her Independence Day mixtape series, as well as her solo debut album. While still focusing on music, Woods has also been working on a couple TV and film projects.
D. Woods, who celebrates her birthday in Miami this weekend, is gearing up to release the second part of her mixtape sometime this summer. Expect to hear new music from her very soon!
Danity Kane’s Dawn Richard, Shannon Bex and Aubrey O’Day sit on stage at MTV’s ‘Making The Band 4: The Final Chapter’ live finale on Thursday night in New York City. I know everyone saw that tension between Dawn and Aubrey, it was so thick that D. Woods had to sit in between them (photo below).
Anyway, the finale event wasn’t really anything special. Day 26 gave some below-average performances and I honestly forgot all about that Donnie Klang dude. Diddy came on promoting his twitter page and t-shirts. Then, Danity Kane (minus Aundrea Fimbres) took the stage to speak on the status of the group and if there will ever be a comeback. Quick answer? No, but all ladies are working on upcoming solo projects and Aubrey says she will have a reality show..
Concrete Loop recently caught up with former Danity Kane star, D. Woods, she exclusively shared with us the first installment of her mixtape series, Independence Day: Volume 1. The mixtape is a part of a three-part series, all leading up to D. Woods breaking out with her first solo release.
You may remember last season on MTV’s Making the Band 4 D. and fellow group member Aubrey O’Day were fired from Danity Kane, but that is not stopping either one. D. has recently launched her new website and has eagerly been recording her solo album and we all know what Aubrey is doing. LOL.

This remix got taken completely out of hand. Rumors swarmed the internet of Keri “dissing” Beyonce, as well as Ciara and possibly Rihanna. But Keri insists that it wasn’t even meant like that, and that this wasn’t even supposed to be released. In any event, love it or hate it, it’s out and it’s garnered a lot of attention considering that Keri used a couple of lines from different songs. Her debut album, In A Perfect World… hits shelves and online March 24th.

D. Woods recently released her mixtape, Independence Day: Volume 1, which contains all new material from her, as well as some of her favorite tunes and some new tracks from The Girls Club. “Legalize Me” and “On My Side” has been my favorite of the material to leak. I think it’s good to see D. putting out cool music that showcases her vocal ability, and I’m eager to hear the new material from the other mixtapes in her series!
