AWARENESS: DIDDY SAVES THE BOYS & GIRLS CLUB of HARLEM

Sean “Diddy” Combs lent a hand to the Boys & Girls Club of Harlem in New York City by donating a significant amount of money to the organization’s operations budget, which has been under tremendous pressure due to enormous shifts in federal, state and private funding:

“Mr. Combs’ contribution comes at a time when we were faced with the possibility of eliminating existing programs and/or club sites. 100% of Mr. Combs’ contribution will go directly to the young people, and provide educational, recreational and social enrichment programs allowing us to move forward as a club, uninterrupted.” Willie C. Bentley, Jr. Board Member and Resource Development Chair. [Source]

The Boys & Girls Club of Harlem is a non-for-proft organization dedicated to youth development by providing access and opportunities for young people in their community regardless of economic, social and family circumstances.

‘RTW LINKS: TV GUIDE RESPONDS TO TARAJI / DIDDY MAKES FORBES’ ‘ONES TO WATCH’ / WANDA SYKES REVEALS BREAST CANCER + MORE!

Following Taraji P. Henson’s vent about not being included on the potential cover of TV Guide, the editor-in-chief of TV Guide magazine & TVGuideMagazine.com, Debra Birnbaum issued a statement and wanted to set the record straight about Taraji being left out of the cover shoot for her new show Person of Interest:

I made an editorial decision to do a story about the relationship between the two male characters on ‘Person of Interest’ and that’s who I was going to put on the cover. That has been my decision all along, ever since I saw the pilot. We’re certainly fans of Taraji Henson and her storyline on the show was never intended to be the focus of our cover story. I don’t know where there was a misunderstanding about this, but it’s been clear to everyone from the start. I don’t make decisions on who is put and not put on the cover based on race or gender. As a result, Birnbaum has decided to go with featuring the three stars of ABC’s new show Charlie’s Angels on next week’s issue (Sept 26) and is no longer “pursuing a cover of Person of Interest at this time.”

DO YOU THINK TARAJI OVERREACTED?
