EVENTS: BET’S ‘RIP THE RUNWAY 2012′ (ARRIVALS & SHOW PICS)

BET’s Rip the Runway fashion show was recorded on Wednesday night (February 29). The annual event was hosted by The Game‘s Pooch Hall and Victoria Secret model Selita E. Banks. The Queen B, Lil Kim popped up at the event and hit the stage. Estelle, B.O.B., Diggy Simmons, Meek Mill, Wale & Robin Thicke also performed. Check out some pics from the red carpet & event down below.

The 2012 Rip the Runway will air on Wednesday, March 21 at 10/9PM CST on BET.

TV BIT: DIGGY SIMMONS & T-PAIN DROP BY ’106 & PARK’

Diggy Simmons and T-Pain rolled through BET’s 106 & Park on Wednesday evening (December 7) to talk about their music, albums, videos and more.

Diggy shared some info about his upcoming holiday Scream Tour, what his fans can expect and of course debuted his brand new video for “Do It Like You,” featuring Jeremih. T-Pain, on the other hand, just released his fourth studio album, RevolveЯ and talked a bit about whether he still uses auto-tune, what it was like to work w/ Wiz Khalifa and what inspired the album’s artwork.

Young heartthrob Diggy Simmons releases his second single from his upcoming debut album, which remains untitled. The new track, “Do It Like You,” featuring Jeremih was released via Diggy’s official website on Tuesday.

There’s no official release date for Diggy’s upcoming project, but it’s looking like Diggy will drop at the top of next year.

CL EXCLUSIVE: UP-CLOSE & PERSONAL W/ DIGGY SIMMONS

It was early last year that Diggy Simmons was finally introduced to music scene. Not as the little outspoken boy from MTV’s Run’s House or as the nephew of hip-hop/fashion mogul, Russell Simmons, but as Diggy, one of the newest & young contenders in the rap game. On March 11, 2010, Simmons dropped his very first music video “Made You Look Freestyle (Flow Stoopid)” – a Phil the God-directed clip where the then 15 year-old, confidently served dope lyrics over the instrumental beat of Nas’s 2003 single, “Made You Look”. Now at the young age of 16, he has already released three mixtapes (The First Flight, Past, Present, Future & Airborne), appeared in a television commercials for AT&T and started his very own shoe line, Chivalrous Culture.

CL contributor Christine Imarenezor had the opportunity to sit down and chat with the teenage heartthrob about his forthcoming, untitled debut album, what it was like to perform his single, “Copy, Paste” for the first time on national television, whether he see himself going back to reality TV as well as his future career and life aspirations.
