President Barack Obama put Donald Trump on blast this weekend at the annual White House Correspondent’s Association Gala at the Washington Hilton hotel in Washington, DC. The dinner is known for roasts on the President, but Obama flipped the script and went in on the Donald for her numerous disses about his birth certificate. Peep the must watch video above.
Trump spoke to various news organizations on Sunday morning about the dinner:
Well, I really understood what I was getting into — I didn’t know that I’d be virtually the sole focus. I guess when you’re leading in the polls that sort of thing tends to happen. But I was certainly in a certain way having a good time listening. I don’t think the American people are having a good time with $5 gas. … I was thinking to myself as they were doing this, you know, the American people are really suffering and we’re all” having fun at a gala.
I wouldn’t think [Obama] would address me” during his speech. That was a largely liberal room. I had no idea it would be to that extent, where you know, it was just joke after joke after joke. It was almost like, is there anyone else they could talk about?
Actor/philanthropist Bill Cosby just gets funnier and funnier as the weeks go by! The 73 year-old comedian/activist visited NBC’s Today Show on Thursday morning (April 7) and talked about the upcoming election and shared his thoughts about wanting to help whoever the president will be in the next presidential term. During his interview with the show’s host, Meredith brought up the fact that the next election is coming up in a year and mentioned that Donald Trump may possibly run for president. Once Bill Cosby heard the real estate mogul’s name, he immediately shot down the idea of Trump running for the leadership role:
Bill: Oh, please with Donald Trump. Take him home with you.
Meredith: Now why do you say that?
Bill: Huh? Because he’s full of it.
Meredith: [awkward pause] Based on what?
Bill: Based on what I just heard. You kept saying or somebody kept saying, “Are you gonna run? Are you gonna run?’ – he jumped. You run or shut up. Continue
Apparently Donald Trump isn’t too happy with singer Rihanna. The real estate mogul invited her out to perform, only to be told that the singer was battling a case of laryngitis and bronchitis prior to the Grammy Awards. The ‘What’s My Name?’ singer allegedly pulled out of making up to $500,000/hour, just to perform at the mogul’s private charity event. What made Mr. Trump even more upset is the fact that she performed the following day at the NBA All-Star game‘s half-time show. Although, Jennifer Hudson was able to perform at the last minute, Donald had a bit to say:
“I thought that (Rihanna bailing) was insulting to everyone, but for Rihanna to go to the All-Star game and perform after she told us she was sick, that is just a lack of respect[...]Nothing was missed. Jennifer’s a beautiful girl. She came on her day off even though she performs almost every night. She is an unbelievable talent, and her voice is better.”[Source]
A representative for Rihanna released the following statement:
“Rihanna was recovering [from] bronchitis and her doctor advised her not to get on a plane as she would risk losing her voice and damaging her vocal chords. She feels terribly she couldn’t attend but was so grateful Jennifer Hudson graciously stepped in.”[Source]
